Tai Chi for Equestrians


Come out to the barn every Tuesday at 11:00 am for an outdoor Tai Chi class - in our covered, shaded arena.  Perfect stress relief with social distancing in these stressful times!  According to the Mayo Clinic, Tai Chi benefits of tai chi may include:


  • Decreased stress, anxiety and depression
  • Improved mood
  • Improved aerobic capacity
  • Increased energy and stamina
  • Improved flexibility, balance and agility
  • Improved muscle strength and definition


More research is needed to determine the health benefits of tai chi. Some evidence indicates that tai chi may also help:

  • Enhance quality of sleep
  • Enhance the immune system
  • Help lower blood pressure
  • Improve joint pain
  • Improve symptoms of congestive heart failure
  • Improve overall well-being
  • Reduce risk of falls in older adults

The Equestrian Center has an incredibly well rounded lesson program. From Hunter/Jumpers to Western Trail & Ranch Riding to Dressage, The Equestrian Center will help you reach your personal goals. We teach all of our students from the ground up and emphasize safety above all else when working around horses. Expect all lessons to run approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, from the time you show up to the time you leave. Proper riding attire is mandatory.

This consists of:

  • Long pants or jeans(thick enough as to not be pinched by the leather stirrup straps)
  •  Fitted shirt or T-Shirt
  • Boots or closed toed shoes with at least a half inch heel     
  •  **Helmets are provided by the Equestrian Center if you do not have your own. BICYCLE HELMETS ARE NOT APPROVED FOR RIDING.


*LESSONS MUST BE CANCELED WITHIN 24 HOURS OR LESSON WILL BE CHARGED AND FORFEITED.

**FOR LESSON PACKAGES: Each new package must be purchased at the END of the 4TH lesson in the previous package, so the next package can start without disruption.
*** Lessons with Janet's Consultation will be charged as a double lesson.
